I Found More Mongolian Snap Lock Muskets But they Are Not from Museum or Auction House

Image
video link: Intro 6 months ago we talked about a traditional and old snap lock gun in Asia. Why in the intro part I want to mention this point? Because the guns in today’s topic are very close to it in relationships and we will be using many of the knowledge points we mentioned before.  Compared with the other guns that we talked about before, another special part is how I found the old guns. They are not the collections on the web pages of museums and auction houses but they are from an old goods online group. This Online Group First of all, let’s talk about what is this online group? Actually it’s not mysterious at all. It’s just a common group on Facebook and its group name is very clear as well, BUY, SELL, EXCHANGE ANTIQUES. At the same time since this is a public group, now there are more than 16,000 members. Although today we talk about the antique firearms in this group, we should know that this is indeed a very common Facebook group for antiques exchanging. Plus, as w...

How Paper Cartridge Could Match the New Minié Balls? | Pritchett Bullet & Cartridge

video link: Intro The last time I focused on the old type cartridge was about 8 months ago. So this week let’s take a little break, we don’t talk about firearms this time but let’s talk about a kind of cartridge.  Origin and Designer The main character of this video/article is a kind of paper cartridge named Pritchett cartridge. I believe you still remember my old video/article where we mentioned a British rifle-musket, Pattern 1853 Enfield. Besides it was a rifle-musket, it was a Minié rifle. He was born in London. Although he invented the Pritchett bullet with another weapon design master Metford in 1853, he was an artist and illustrator. As an artist he painted royal ceremonies for Queen Victoria, and he illustrated Darwin's The Voyage of the Beagle. Because of the new invention, Pritchett not ...

Is This Really the Balinese Matchlock? | New Discord Server | Portuguese Snap-matchlock

The photo: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Balinese_matchlock_gun_from_Klungkung_RV-1684-125.jpg   Intro Before this video/article starts, please allow me to announce a thing. I’m very glad the last video/article has gotten more views and I saw that many friends have many valuable information about muskets. So I created a Discord server as you can see my youtube post and there’s the link in the description of this video/article as well. We know that the search engines can help us find many photos and video/articles but it’s still limited if we want to dig deeper. Plus, although the AIGC is smarter and smart, if we ask them very details and rare things, they often give us a not good enough answer or even fake information. AIGC has a very good logical thinking ability but it’s still limited in the training corpus. So even though now it’s 2025  I think we still need a sharing group and then I created this Discord server. Here we can share photos, videos and links...
